The Booker T. Washington(BTW) Tornadoes played their first full football game since the gutwrenching loss that came in the state championship game last season. They defeated the Blanche Ely Tigers 48-0 in their spring game Friday night. To put it quite frankly-- the Tornadoe's are back and ready for a year of redemption.

BTW yielded an impressively solid game on both sides of the ball. Defensively they recovered three of the four fumbles in the game, held the Tigers to a minimum amount of yards on almost every Tiger posession, and when a catch was finally made- at least one of the Tornadoe defensive 11 was there to meet the reciever. Junior D-ends
Chad Thomas and
Tevin Evans, as well as Senior linebacker
Daniel Jones each recorded a sack.
Known and respected as a team with a lightning fast offense, I was shockingly impressed with this powerful Tornado defense.
Assumingly however, Booker T's offense did not dissapoint. Junior quarterback
Treon Harris showed up with a lethal combination of 70 yard throws and 50 yard QB keepers. Senior
Nicholas Norris and Junior
Deltron Hopkins ended the game with two touchdowns each. The entire offense is seemingly young, well-coached, and powerful.
The Booker T Washington Tornadoes are a well coached, young team. They're flooded with innate talents and fueled by redemption. In my eyes, it's highly plausible-- and in fact, probible that the Tornadoes will find their way back to the Citrus Bowl this upcoming season. This is definitely a dangerous squad and one to keep your eye on throughout the season.
