Nike's annual 7on7 Tourney traveled to South Florida this
weekend for a day filled with competition and athleticism. The teams trickled
into Amelia Earhart Park early in the morning, awaiting a day of anticipated
action— it should come as no surprise then, that the tournament was nothing
less than just that, action packed.
The sun was blazing, and heat was nearly unbearable.
However, all the athletes seemed to forget the sun’s unforgiving rays when the
games were underway. The day demonstrated to onlookers why South Florida athletes are respected nationwide. It was a day of grind-hard respectful competition that everyone can enjoy.

2012 Champions: Homestead Broncos |
Last year, the Homestead Bronco’s made a statement at Nike 7on7.
They showcased their talent throughout the competition, and received the
highest title for their works: 2011 Nike 7on7 Champions. The majority of the
playmakers remembered for bringing the Bronco’s this championship have since
then graduated and gone off to the next level. However, Homestead returned to
the tournament to defend their title, and what came next would have shocked
anybody who didn’t familiarize themselves with the team early in the
competition. Under a new coaching staff, the Bronco’s once again reigned
victorious. The repeat champions faced
Miami Jackson in the finals, and left with Bronco Pride as well as the
championship trophy.
Displaying a vast number of talents that stretched from South Florida to Martin County, Nike once again had a successful year in South Florida.
